GAU 2000
The GAU 2000 is an innovative, lightweight and low-cost data recorder designed to be mounted in mobile equipment. The GAU 2000 records rich motion data through the use of various sensors, including accelerometers, gyros, magnetic and pressure sensors and a 16 channel WAAS-enabled GPS module. The data produced by these sensors is recorded onto both a removable SD memory card and a crash-hardened internal memory module.
As a data recorder, the GAU 2000 is drastically smaller in size, less expensive and more ruggedized than anything else on the market today, allowing the application of Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) programs for all types of aircraft where they have never before been feasible.
While the GAU 2000 was designed for use in aircraft, there are many other possible applications for the system. From tracking the performance of a race car to ensuring the most efficient agricultural practices, the GAU 2000’s potential is limited only by imagination.
