Appareo Systems is currently developing technology for the U.S. Department of Defense with funding from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. The SBIR program provides funding for small businesses in order to benefit from the high-tech advances made by nimble, energetic companies like Appareo.

Our current SBIR grant focuses on the development of head-mounted attitude sensing units. This product is able to accurately track and interpret the head movements and location of the user, and will be used to enhance safety and situational awareness. Beyond the immediate application for the military, this technology lays the foundations for a number of exciting advances in civilian-oriented augmented reality.
