From farmhouse to field: How the iPad revolutionized the modern tractor cab

Since its introduction to the market in 2010, Apple’s iPad® has revolutionized the way we work and play. Its lightweight and easy-to-use interface has allowed us to shed the bulky, specialized equipment once required.

Less than a year after the iPad’s release, the Intelligent Ag Solutions Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor was developed by our engineers and tested in the field to provide farmers with an enhanced user experience when compared with systems that require expensive, limited-purpose monitors.

The benefits of a “take-with-you” monitor are clear. Once planting season is over, our customers can simply remove the iPad from its mount in the tractor cab and use it in their homes to check market prices, view the weather report, email, browse the web, or “borrow it” during the off season. As iPads continue to become more accessible, we find that many of our customers already own an iPad before they purchase Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor system. This makes the cost to equip an air seeder with the Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor even more affordable.

Since the introduction of the Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor app, our engineers have been busy creating many other iPad-based products and carving their spots as leaders in improving the man-machine interface in agriculture. Other agricultural apps developed by our engineers include Vaderstad’s E-Control  and CDS-John Blue’s Liquid Blockage Monitor System.
