Today, the FAA announced that aircraft owners will be able to register for the $500 ADS-B rebate incentive starting Monday, when the rebate website is scheduled to go live.
In the FAA’s press release, they estimate that 160,000 aircraft need to be equipped by the 2020 deadline. The incentive program will issue 20,000 rebates on a first-come, first-served basis for one year or until all 20,000 rebates are claimed – whichever comes first.
Two reasons why you should schedule your install today
REASON 1: When registering online, you need to know which equipment you’re installing AND your scheduled installation date.
REASON 2: The validation flight must take place within 150 days. (Installation within 90 days of when they register online, and the validation flight within 60 days from install). If you wait, you might miss out on your $500 rebate.
